Our front yard has been slowly blooming over the last couple weeks, with the Acacia, blossoming plum, and candelabra aloe splashing beautiful colors against the otherwise mostly grey backdrop of this rainy season. And then sometimes the sun comes out for a peek, lighting it all up - so bright and amazing.
This moment is dedicated to the giant tree down our block that was sadly and loudly reduced to a pile of woodchips today. One of us should have come and sat in you, I'm sorry Berkeley let you down.

5 weeks agoAmar definitely equals the bloom among my gloom!! was it the tree that fell on my car back in 2000?
5 weeks agofell on you car? Our original acacia did fall in 2002 but luckily there was no car there, or else it would have been smashed cause that tree was huge. This is a sapling from the tree that came up on it's own in another spot...
5 weeks agooh I just figured out you were talking about the one that came down yesterday. No, the tree they chopped down yesterday was huge - one of the tallest old ones, not sure why they took it down, sad.
5 weeks agoyeah don't you remember my beetle got beat all night by a tree in that crazy wind storm on Delaware? Sad when trees come down...usually it' because they are rotten and the city will be spending more money to fix whatever it breaks than taking it down. At least your Ginko is still there...
