Anne really wanted to adopt a cat. I had never owned a cat before and was a little nervous about the whole thing. We went down to Pets Unlimited and spent the afternoon getting to know the various kitties. Anne was particularly interested in getting a kitten but there were none available. A flyer on the wall extolled the virtues of adopting adult cats instead, and I found the arguments persuasive.
Even more persuasive, however, was my visit with a cute little 4 year old tabby named Oscar. After a few minutes sitting in the cage with him and having him crawl all over me, I knew that I would never be able to leave that cage until the shelter worker put the sticker on his sheet to signal that he was taken. Luckily, Anne agreed, and we got to adopt our special little guy!

I had two cats growing up, both were Tabbys. All others are inferior. Just ask the Tabby.
