Amy decided she would host a birthday party at Golden Gate Fields for my 39th b-day. It all started out very civilized with us all getting dressed up for a day at the track. The woman wore big hats and the guys wore jackets. Then when I opened my presents to find a jockey outfit, a wig and a mustache, things got real fun!

I put the Jockey outfit on and went up to the race window to start betting. Needless to say, there were plenty of jokes to be had about that.

We got to go down trackside, and that was like taking a multi-level escalator ride down through the stages of gambling. Up top in the crown room, everything was fun and games, all about eating and socializing. The second level was a nice outdoor area and very mellow. The next level got smokey and beer & pretzels were the only food to be found. Finally the bottom level, where the floors were sticky and people looked real mad. They ushered us right through there and out onto the track to have our picture taken with the winning Jockey. I only wish I was wearing the Jockey outfit at this point!

It was an amazing time and we raised a lot of money for my charity. We will be doing it again for sure!
