This moment made me feel
Imagine mixing an X-files kind of paranormal storyline, told through a narrative story style, with a protagonist on a Shining-esque writers getaway vacation, set against the David Lynchian Pacific Northwest timber towns made famous in Twin Peaks, and you have something called Alan Wake. It's been in development for what feels like decades, but it's purported to finally arrive in Q1 of next year.
I have high hopes, as it seems to blend all the goodness I love from Resident Evil 4/5 (replacing ammo scarcity with light source scarcity), with the dark/light visual paradigms of SIREN: Blood Curse (but in a way that doesn't suck.) I'll be very disappointed if this game ends up as a simple shooter running between cut scenes... we'll see! -
