From the Skidmore New Era, date unknown (around 1910-1920):
"B.E. Wood has a Jersey Swiss-Holstein cow which he has tested for thirty days for butter fat. She gave 1556 pounds of milk, which, tested at ___, yielded 6405 pounds butter fat. At 34 cents a pound this gave $21.75 for the month. Mr. Wood thinks this is a good record and would like to hear of any one in the neighborhood who has a cow that can beat it."
