The drive started out looking for Rhinos... we really wanted to complete our goal of seeing the Big 5 on this Safari: the Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Cape Buffalo and mighty Rhino. And then we got much more than we bargained for!

20 weeks agoYeah, Right! Interesting to see 'the tourist' interacting with the game reserve's animals. Oh, the 'jackal', of course, was a bat eared fox. Getting close to animals, especially the preditors, the dangerous kind, certainly puts into the food-chain.. but not more so than actually getting out of the vehicle, regardless of how 'far away' the preditors are - tourists behaving badly.. i guess a product of professional pressure on the guide/driver. Scenics are super, great savanah, acacia trees and zebras. If you'd have held still when you were close to the Cheetahs - they would have used the vehicle as a lookout point.
20 weeks agoExcellent story. Hard to get a bad story with such compelling subjects. But you handled it very well.. Looking forward to viewing the rest of your time line. Kudos!

What's the back-up plan say if the lion doesn't just want to sit and chill and be so tame right around the Jeep? Has anyone ever been attacked?

so you two have some territory marked in Africa yourselves. I wonder if you need to claim that on your taxes?
