Glad Penn won. ... I missed the end while putting Austin to sleep, so I'm catching up now ...
55 weeks agoI wish they'd go back to the old format of showing movie clips to showcase the nominee's work.
55 weeks agoFor those of us who didn't see the movies, it leaves me completely in the dark.
Yep, I'm zero for five for seeing the best picture nominees... sorry, waiting for blue ray! :-) I just hope there isn't a Frost/Nixon sweep, like would be a real snoozer (a la the English Patient in 1996)
55 weeks agoNo worries there! That Frank Langella acceptance speech would have really brought the house down.
55 weeks agoThis isn't turning out quite like I expected it to. Does this mean the movie business is in trouble? Clearly, it does.
55 weeks agomaybe if i could add a babysitter to my 9 dollar soda and 7 dollar popcorn order... but seriously, and on a side note, the "refreshment" prices have gone from ludicrous to just insulting. But if you order your ticket in advance- could i get that coke for 2 dollars and my popcorn for 2 too? .. also maybe movie prices should be set by the quality of the movie?
55 weeks agoi think it just means the oscars are in trouble this year. there isn't a lot of populist entertainment being represented. it's mostly smaller art house stuff, so expect the audience to be correspondingly smaller.
55 weeks agoNo, I think it means you put too many parents in this moment!
55 weeks agoAnd also, Trey and I rent a lot of videos and this year most of the front runners are still out in the theaters so we just haven't caught up. I'm gonna stop ruining your moment now.
55 weeks agoThey're definitely in trouble... we'll be checking the highlights tomorrow. I do love a nice montage and lifetime achievement award, but the rest of the 3 hours will be sadly skipped this year.
55 weeks agoOh this moment actually makes me so sad cause I think we've seen none of the major nominated flicks this year. And I love movies. Freakin kids.
55 weeks agoLOL! "Freakin' kids" is right. It's sad when I'm better equipped to judge Madagacar 2 over any of the other movies.
55 weeks agoSpace Chimps sucked.
Absolutely right about the freakin' kids. Thanks for the heads up about Space Chimps and for saving me $25 on the Director's Cut.
55 weeks agoI have to go out and see at least one of these movies. This may be the first year I haven't seen a nominated film. We need a baby sitter! But which one should I see... maybe i should just wait for the winner, then go see the runner up, that's always the better film, the snubbed one.
55 weeks agoI haven't seen Buttons or The Reader, but of the others Slumdog would be my pick.
55 weeks agoPS - feel free to invite your friends to this moment - the more the merrier!
