I've been enjoying this BSG remake series far more than I expected. It's one of the best shows on television right now and I am eager for each new episode, which are dwindling down to the series finale in mere weeks. Even if you don't like science fiction, you will still enjoy this. However, you must watch this from the beginning. It is in it's last season now, but there are only four seasons to catch up on...so go do it!
The world ended with no warning, and all that was left … was hope.
The Cylons were created by the people of the Twelve Colonies. Intelligent robots, they were used as slaves and soldiers to fight humanity's wars. But the Cylons became sentient and they rebelled. Man and machine fought to a bloody stalemate, then the Cylons withdrew to a remote region of space.
A truce between the Twelve Colonies and the Cylons lasted for 40 tense and silent years. Each year, on the anniversary of the treaty-signing, humanity sent an envoy to the neutral ground of Armistice Station to meet with a Cylon envoy. For 39 years, no Cylon envoy came.
Then, on the 40th anniversary, a stunning blonde — a Cylon in human form — met the human envoy … moments before the Cylons vaporized the station and launched a genocidal attack on the Twelve Colonies.
In one devastating day, billions of human lives were consumed by nuclear fires. Only those souls fortunate enough to be aboard starships were able to band together and escape and flee into deep space, led by the sole surviving Colonial warship, the battlestar Galactica.
The Galactica and its crew seemed to be unlikely saviors for humanity's fewer than 50,000 desperate survivors. The ship was old and had been about to be decommissioned and turned into a museum when the Cylon attack occurred. In the aftermath its commanding officer, William Adama, found himself responsible for safeguarding the last remnants of the human race.
Meanwhile, the annihilation of the Colonial government on Caprica resulted in the succession of Laura Roslin, the Secretary of Education, to the presidency. Driven by prophetic visions and political necessity, she set the fleet upon a quest that will take it into the farthest reaches of unexplored space … in search of the mythical, lost "13th colony" — Earth.

Somehow they pulled it off and ended this thing in a great way. More poetic than realistic, but it fits.
50 weeks agoYes, very satisfying ending. I didn't really need the "wrap-up-all-in-tidy-bow" part nor the lecture/message at the end, but still, very pleased. The action-packed 1st half was definitely my favorite part.
48 weeks agoReminder: The 2-hour series finale begins at 9 p.m. tonight! Exciting!
51 weeks agoHmm... pretty sure I'm gonna get crucified for this but I so could not get into watching this. Granted I think I only gave it one episode but even that was difficult for me. Everyone seems to love it....interesting...
56 weeks agoApril! Say it isn't so?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?
56 weeks agoYou're not alone, April. Jon isn't into the new BSG either. He liked the old series, though. So, when I run around the house saying things like, "OMG, that last BSG episode was awesome!" He just yawns at me. ;-)
56 weeks agoI knew there was something not quite right that guy - I KNEW IT!
56 weeks agoThis series looks like fun--now I have to trick Chaghig into giving it a try...
56 weeks agoJust watch the mini series, that's not a huge commitment, then you'll be hooked!
56 weeks agoHe tricked me, we are watching it. I like it ok. But I hate the sexy blond robot plus doctor storyline and double frackin hate the sexy robot music that comes on whenever the doctor is with her. If they don't let up on that stuff, they are gonna lose me.
52 weeks agoadded the mini-series opener, which never ceases to amaze.
56 weeks agoSo great- i forgot how great that was- makes me want to watch the mini series again. nice add.
56 weeks ago"Prove it."
56 weeks agopure genius.
only problem with being a bsg fan is i'm finding myself using f'racking way too much in conversation around the house. . perhaps even once is too much. haven't done it around another bsg fan though so no signs of insider acknowledgment from a member of the tribe.
56 weeks agoyou'll feel right at home with the thisMoment team. Just stop by our area and you'll hear people mumbling "its f'racking cold in here" pretty much all the time.
56 weeks agoDid anyone watch the BSG webisodes released before the second half of this season aired? I heard it helps you understand exactly what they were talking about at the table in "Blood on the Scales" (most recent ep.) I have to watch those now!
56 weeks agoyou can get the webisodes for free on itunes. It's good, basically one or two scenes from a typical episode divided up and drawn out, so it can be a bit tedious to start up each one to see the story continue.
56 weeks agojust saw them all. explains a lot.
56 weeks agoOkay no spoilers here, but I just have to say O.M.G about the last two weeks of the current season. Again I say, O.M.G. Frackin' fantastic.
56 weeks agoYes, the last two episodes included everything I love about the show. I almost stood up and cheered when you-know-who emphatically said you-know-what from the other ship. The episode three weeks ago was "MEH," and the one before that was "AHA!" Personally, I think that "AHA!" moment was just a red herring.
56 weeks agoOOH, that last episode was amazing, everyone must see this show.
57 weeks agoHell yes it was. The last two two episodes were so good.
