The nearby Aero Theater was showing the Mad Max Triology back-to-back-to-back. I couldn't pass up this opportunity to see The Road Warrior and Beyond Thunderdome on the big screen, and I thought Sol and Lucian would like to see them too. So, with Susan's blessing, the three of us took off, went out for dinner, then had a great (and very late) night at the movies.
This was my first true "boys night out" with Sol and Lucian. It was so much fun hanging out with them. I look forward to many more such nights to come.
And for anyone wondering, the Road Warrior has most definitely stood the test of time (unfortunately can't say the same for Thunderdome).

Despite my reaction on the phone to the scene you posted, I am a huge fan of Mad Max and Road Warrior (never could warm up to Thunderdome). I almost bought Mad Max for 5 euros the other day in our French supermarket but I was worried that the soundtrack would be the poorly dubbed American-accent version that I watched throughout high school, depriving me of the charming Australian accent of a young, sexy and controversy-free Mel Gibson.
38 weeks agoHow come you guys skipped Mad Max and opted for Beyond Thunderdome instead? Should have seen Mad Max and Road Warrior and skipped Thunderdome, which was a big disappointment as I recall. Sounds like a great guys night out in any event.

are you joking about the soda? hope so, in the interest of keeping this boys' night out tradition alive...
52 weeks agoAWESOME. I can't wait for Tex to be old enough for stuff like this. And you're right, Road Warrior beats Thunderdome hands down.
