An amazing day and night of hanging out in the suite catching up, followed by an awesome Texas steak dinner, to an awesome concert ending with a relaxing night hanging out in the suite. It was worth the wait and the trip. Can't wait to do it again!
I made one short video for outsiders to enjoy and one longer one for those of us that want to relive more of the moment in years to come.
John and Kristi got tickets for Vince, Tom, Scott Bedard, Scott Phillips and I to go see the AC/DC Black Ice show in Big D. What a whirlwind! I flew in and out in one day because Elena was about to give birth to Catherine. On my plane flight back to Vermont, I wore my AC/DC cap, and no less than five people on the plane stopped me and asked me about the concert. I woke up the next day on a peaceful Vermont morning with snow, kid, pregnant wife, dogs, etc. and was like "What just happened?" Had such a great time hanging out with everyone, seeing a great band, eating great food, drinking great beer and whiskey...can't wait for the next trip. Major props to everyone for making it (and to those who tried and couldn't..), to Vince for setting up the crazy hotel accommodations, and to Johnny for picking up those amazing seats. I'm thinking maybe U2 next?
A pure, blast of energy.
The whole day was tremendous.
I'll have an everlasting image of a maniacal, relentless Angus, dripping in sweat, banging away on his guitar. He left it all out on the stage. Awesome.
Man, what a night. I'll add media later, but just wanted to document some of my thoughts while sitting here at LaGuardia airport. Some of the memories/moments w/in moments include:
- How great it was to have the whole crew rollin' in to Dallas
- Seeing Hugo after 15 plus years. What better way to catch up than over an AC/DC concert!
- Bumming hard that Vince had to spend ~2.5 hrs at the clinic getting his friggin' arm repacked. At the same time, damn proud he made the trek despite a nasty staph infection.
- Jokin' w/ Hugo, Scotty and Tommy in the suite about Vince having keep his arm elevated everywhere we went and holding the devil sign high in the air. I love a good laugh and the image of that gave me one or two. Vince, you missed this, but you'd appreciate it.
- The anticipation of seeing this legendary rock 'n roll band. The best hard rock band ever in my opinion.
- Feeling the volume turn up at dinner as the anticipation built and drinks flowed.
- BUMMED that Ankarino couldn't be here, but glad Scott Phillips could join us. Scott's a big AC/DC fan and could tell he was as excited as everyone else.
- Looking down the isle, seeing my friends just going nuts. So cool.
- Fulfilling a goal that Kristi and I have had for a long, long time.
- Just completely into it and out of control during the show. Man, they do rock.
- Brian Johnson, with his pipes hangin' out of hi sleeveless shirt, whipping the crowd into a frenzy
- Malcolm "Gollum" Young - playing rhythm guitar. Looking barely alive, but commanding a presence all his own
- A couple of indescribable moments watching Angus - Clearly a guy who was born to do this and will go to the grave doing it. Seriously, what can you say?
- looking across a sea of people, covering every age group. How many rock bands appeal to such a wide age range?
- Happy to own the coolest hoodie ever.
Closing comment: ANGUS YOUNG.
After months of anticipation, the big night was finally here. With perfect seats, the perfect crew, and a sold out arena, we settled in for the show of a lifetime. And AC/DC did not disappoint, giving us all a night we will never forget.

59 weeks agoVinny, you're so crazy with that horn pic! A very nice reminder of a very fun night!!! I had a blast with all of you. THANK YOU!!!!
59 weeks agoYeah I love the horns too but as I'm sending out our investor note tomorrow I'm afraid it will be a "limited edition" icon! So enjoy it while it lasts!
59 weeks agoi used to listen to these guys myself in the day. I love that your hotel room probably cost more than the tickets (something that probably didn't happen when you went to see them in the 80s)! I, too, love Vince in the horns.
