I always prided myself on my eye sight. I loved being able to read things from further away than anyone in the car, or read tiny print in near dark conditions. However, a few years ago I went for my first eye exam and while I was fine, he told me to enjoy it for the next few years, because after 40 things change fast.
Sure enough, things have been going quickly on the reading side of things. I have been needing to hold things further away and reading things like a pill bottle in low light are now impossible. It is really making me depressed.
I wonder how much of it is mental. If I never went to the doctor and had that seed planted, would I be the same? My eye sight was always perfect until I finally had my eyes dilated and all those tests performed on them. Do those actually make your eyes worse?
I am going to say this is all mental, and going to mentally focus on making my eyes better and see if that helps. Your eyes are a muscle, and I think the muscle just gets weak with age. I think focusing on things that are far away and then on things close will strengthen that muscle and make everything alright again!
Time to fight!

You are actually right, so they say, if you focus in and out on far away objects then close up objects, over time, your eyes will improve. I read a book on the subject in high school when my perfect vision just went south one year, and glasses and braces was a deadly combination.. . my eyes didnt get better.
