This moment made me feel
We took around 14 hours of video and 4500+ pictures while in Africa. I need to go through all of these pics and get them down to just the good ones, then edit all that footage down to bite size videos so people can actually enjoy them. Also, in extending the thisMoment shared media tradition, we were the photographers for others who had less or no cameras, so they are all waiting for the moments to check everything out.
This is how I extend vacations for months and months! This one though is a little daunting.

So after a crappy weekend. Coding was a headbanging exercise that went nowhere, working on my tiny laptop screen, exhausted, etc....bitch...bitch...bitch...I need to edit some video to relax me and get straight for a big week ahead. I sit down to start on the Paris leg of our trip and realize I still have a whole other tape I never captured! It just keeps coming. So excited, just what I needed.
43 weeks agoYou can all make fun of me for my camera addiction, but when a vacation starts all over again 5 months later, it is all worth it.
On to the Safari Footage! Uploading a quick snippet to show the kind of stuff I have to make a story with. I really want to kick things up a notch for this part of the trip!
54 weeks agoPics are filtered and touched up! Video is about Half way done. Still have the best yet to come! This is how you extend a vacation to last for months!
54 weeks agoGot it down to 1100 photos, most of which I have color corrected! And have learned how to make nice HD encoded movies that are small enough to upload! So the moments are starting to flow in! The beauty is, that in all the places where no cameras were allowed, I have been able to find pics on Flickr to use in my moments. So awesome!

56 weeks agoI am so pissed. I just found the 8 missing premium DV tapes in my bag. They were in a secret side pocket. I was reduced to shooting everything on crappy tapes during the Safari because I screwed up and thought I lost them and bought the only ones I could find in Dubai. Urghhhh. Oh well, when I go back I am bringing a broadcast quality camera with a big telephoto lens anyhow. This was just test footage for the Real Safari!
