Someday, I will have unfragmented sleep again. Six, maybe seven hours straight where I just sleep, and nobody wakes me up cause they have to pee or need to eat or are just a baby who finished a sleep cycle and can't pull it together. That Lunesta commercial where the little butterfly comes and rests on the person's pillow and then the man's voice comes on and says something like "users of Lunesta should make sure they have 8 or 9 hours to devote to sleep" - it kind of makes me want to cry a little.

Our son, Daron actually slept from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. last night for the first time. I was shocked, but am prepared for the fact that it was a one time occurence for the time being.
4 weeks agoWe are still waiting to arrive. She gets oh so close and takes 5 steps back. I am sure it's karmic payback as I am pretty sure I didn't sleep through the night until I could say full sentences.
4 weeks agochaghig, it's like you were in my brain when you wrote this. we have one kid who sleeps reliably through the night, and another who sleeps through the night just enough to make me know what i'm missing. it's so tantalizingly close, and yet... here I am, unable to assemble a thought or really even see straight.
4 weeks agoWe are still waiting for this moment... we need to get Scott and Amy up in here.
4 weeks agoWe were here, and now we seem to have left here for awhile again - such a fun ride.
4 weeks agoWe had almost 2 weeks of her sleeping from 8pm-6:30am a couple weeks ago. It was awesome while it lasted.
4 weeks agoMika, now almost 5, sleeps from about 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. It rocks. When she was an infant, however, I was lucky if I managed 2 consecutive hours a night, and the rare 3+ felt like I'd won the lottery (oh the joy). ;-)
56 weeks agoLook at it this way: in just 18 short years you'll have all the sleep you can handle!
56 weeks agoUnfragmented sleep is the one thing I want most in life right now.
61 weeks agoUmmm, yeah. Sleep used to be something I dreamt of. But now I dont even sleep long enough to dream.
61 weeks agoSo funny you made this. I was calculating the other day and realized that is has been a full twenty-plus years since I consistently got a good nights sleep.
61 weeks agoMy twenties were all about late night with parties and GameSpot and my thirties were all about round the clock coverage with the kids.
At 16 months, I think little Zain is somewhere between a few weeks and a few months from really sleeping through the night...and when he does, let the butterflies fly, baby!
Oh.... no... :-0
61 weeks agooh...yes. you're gonna love it don't worry.
61 weeks agoI'm here... I've arrived!
56 weeks agoAh, yes, welcome...and so sorry. It gets better, or rather you get used to functioning at almost 100 percent on the sleep depriviation.
